What is PRP Hair?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), known as a treatment rich in platelets, involves taking blood from the individual, subjecting it to certain processes, and then applying it via injection to the necessary body tissues. PRP treatment can be applied as a solution to aesthetic issues such as skin rejuvenation and hair loss. However, its application is not limited solely to aesthetic purposes; it is also used to expedite the healing process of injured ligaments, muscles, tendons, and joints.

How is PRP Hair Applied?

For PRP Hair treatment, blood is required from the individual. Initially, about 10 cc of blood is drawn from the individual's venous blood. The red blood cells in the blood obtained from the individual are separated through microfiltration and centrifugation methods. After these processes, a plasma material rich in platelets and thrombocytes is obtained. In the next stage, this material is applied to the hair follicles. This application, which is fundamentally aimed at tissue regeneration, takes about 30 minutes and is painless during application.

Why is PRP Hair Applied? Does PRP Hair Regrow Hair?

PRP Hair treatment is generally applied to revitalize thin and weak hair. It is also used to reduce hair loss in individuals genetically predisposed to hair loss. However, PRP treatment does not regrow hair in individuals who have no hair at all. PRP Hair application contributes to the restoration of non-growing hair and strengthens it to its former healthy state.

What Are the Benefits of PRP Hair Treatment?

Through PRP Hair application, weakened and thinning hair is restored. It thickens your hair roots and contributes to voluminous hair. Other benefits of PRP hair treatment include:

  • Protects hair against shedding,
  • Enhances hair follicle vitality,
  • Repairs hair tissue and promotes hair growth,
  • Revitalizes dormant hair follicles.
