Glutathione

Glutathione is a protein consisting of three amino acids that is produced by the cells in our body and plays a key role in important biochemical mechanisms. It is responsible for neutralizing and removing certain substances harmful to the body by using special chemical bonds in its structure.


What Does Glutathione Do?

Gives its own electron to free radicals and prevents damage to the cell
Converts harmful substances formed inside the cell into water
Removes heavy metals from the body by binding heavy metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium, copper, zinc, arsenic and silver
Source for glutamate, which plays an important role in the nervous system


How to Increase Glutathione?

Low-intensity exercise helps to increase the amount of glutathione in the body.
The amount of glutathione can be increased by increasing Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12 and Folic acid support, i.e. methylation.
An increase can be achieved by using glutathione precursors such as Vitamin C, N-acetyl cysteine.
Vitamin E, alpha lipoic acid, selenium, magnesium support the increase in glutathione.

The amount of glutathione in the body can be tried to increase through nutrition. For this, amino acids in the glutathione structure should be taken with foods. The most important of these is the amino acid cysteine. Foods that are sources of cysteine are as follows;
